Gah! I haven't posted in over a week (month?)! (heck, even the draft of this post is days old) *forehead slap* Well, that's what I get for going on a road trip and then having to do homework afterwards.
I know that you people (or at least one person) won't blame me for using school and homework and recovery from a road trip as an excuse to not post. . . but I'm gonna see if I can't jump back on it. Maybe we can aim for posting monthly? Maybe not, but we'll just see how things come along.

So Little to Do, So Much Time
I've got time to write in my blog, but not too much to write about in the way of writing about things that are things. Reminds me of when I started a journal. There is a specific entry that I like to laugh at. "Nothing to say today." I was holding to my commitment to write in my journal every night, but couldn't think of anything to say. So I said I had nothing to say. Makes sense, but it's still kinda funny.
It also reminds me of a (somewhat) famous journal entry by the King of England (was it George III? I can never remember) who on July 4, 1776, wrote "Nothing of importance happened today." I get a kick out of that one sometimes, too.
So, while I don't have much to say about how I'm saying things I'm saying, I have plenty to say about how I'm saying things I'm not saying. I think.

Trip! (whoops) I mean Trips!
So tonight we went on a magical journey to the land of Middle Earth. That's right, folks, for the first time in (what is it now, years?) My friends and I watched Lord of The Rings. Well, actually we only watched The Fellowship of the Ring, but we are planning on finishing the trilogy within the week! Talk about a marathon. But it is totally fun. Recommended if you haven't seen them in a while. Mention has been made of watching all 6 Star Wars movies, but no results have returned from the polls. Back to the trips, Werbenjeygermierman Jensen.
I've also decided to see if I can wrangle Eugene into a two-man road-trip to Mesa. w00t! It would be lots of fun and driving experience. Not to mention danger, adventure, and excitement.
Since I made regionals, I'll be traveling to Tucson in a bus a week from Friday. Again (with the bus traveling and not the week from Friday). More fun musical stuff. But the funnest music stuff of all is that we get to go to Disneyland/Cali. Adventure on tour! Hooray! The not fun part is that now, every member of the choir has strings attached to their joints with marionette paddles marked "Disneyland" that the choir director uses to make us dance to her tune (ha ha); and a sword hovering above all our necks with "$400" engraved on it wielded by our parents. A fine line to walk, ladies and gentlemen. A fine line.
And that's it.

Knock on wood!
Well I guess I didn't knock on wood after saying I would try to post everyday.
In the meantime, a cat has showed up at our house, and it is decided that I shall be the main caregiver for it. Even though it just randomly showed up at our house. It IS a pretty cute kitten though. It's black with white paws and the very tip of its tail is white, as well as its lower jaw, neck and chest. It's pretty cold outside and the rule so far is that it doesn't get to come inside, so it pretty much waits outside, being cold, waiting for us to sit and hug it and pet it and warm it up, or put a microwavable heating pad in the box (heated) that we've set out for it, and feed it. Awwwww. Poor, cute neko.
I made regionals choir, and at first I was bummed, but it's okay because now I get to go on another road trip and the music ROCKS!!! I'm telling you people, there is some pretty sweet music out there, and I get to get together with 100-odd other people and sing it. Pretty dang neat if you ask me.
On a religious note: I stumbled across 2 Ne 26:23 the other day and it hit me pretty profoundly. "For behold, my beloved brethren, I say unto you that the Lord God worketh not in darkness. " How much plainer does it get? Not much. Somewhere I think we all know that working in the dark, while it may work for a while, just won't cut it in the end. It's not the best way. And what other way would we want to go than the best?
Also, D&C 124: 98-100 is very special to me.
"98 And these signs shall follow him—he shall heal the sick, he shall cast out devils, and shall be delivered from those who would administer unto him deadly poison;
99 And he shall be led in paths where the poisonous serpent cannot lay hold upon his heel, and he shall mount up in the imagination of his thoughts as upon eagles’ wings.
100 And what if I will that he should raise the dead, let him not withhold his voice. "
William Law is given told these prophetic words as he is being prepared to be called on a mission for the Lord. How much cooler can it get, than raising the dead and being invulnerable when we're in the service of each other and our God. This scripture is one of my main inspirations for going on a mission.
And lastly, Psalms 91: 3-7 gives this powerful promise to all who "will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." v.2
" 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee."
Sometimes we don't shine our best or our brightest, but if we try our hardest, then we can make it the rest of the way with help from someone who is a lot better at what we're trying to do than we are.
